There are many ways to celebrate becoming B’nei Mitzvah, and we are happy to help you host events for your family, friends, and community! Our Director of Operations Seydee Doradea would be delighted to sit with you to discuss any of the options below.
After each Shabbat morning service, we share a meal as a congregation, and on the week of your child’s simhah your family will host this kiddush with us. As a reminder, all B’nei Mitzvah families contribute a kiddush sponsorship fee, which helps provide drinks, dessert, and seasonal fruit for the entire congregation. We strongly encourage families to celebrate with the full community – a value reflected in our inclusive kiddush model – adding hot or cold dishes from our signature menu or your own dairy menu. However, if you prefer a private kiddush for your guests, we can help you explore that option, including menus, room rentals, and logistics. Outside caterers are also welcome, provided they adhere to our kashrut guidelines. Seydee can provide all necessary requirements and answer any questions you may have. To ensure everything runs smoothly, kiddush plans should be finalized no later than six weeks before your simhah.
Many families also choose to host a seated Shabbat dinner with us after Friday night services. Shabbat dinner is a simple way to extend the B’nei Mitzvah celebrations with your guests, especially out of town family. A minimum of 30 diners is required.
Chizuk Amuno is also a great place to host evening B’nei Mitzvah parties! Many spaces in our building are available to rent, including the Krieger Auditorium, the Stulman Auditorium, and the Krieger Gymnasium, as well as a number of outdoor options. Whether your child dreams of a dance party or a field day, we can help you host the perfect party.

We look forward to celebrating with you and your family and are happy to work with you to talk through options, answer your questions, or help dream up something special. If we have not already heard from you, Natasha will reach out six months prior to your simhah to offer her planning assistance.
